Music is not just for professionals

Try to envision music as a language in the sense that all people can develop some level of fluency or basic literacy. In the same way that it is possible to cook without being a chef, to write without being an author, to dance without being a professional dancer, it is possible to make music as a common aspect of human life and culture, without the pretense that it needs to be 'good', without needing to identify as 'professional' or even 'amateur'. Although [[music is distinct from other art forms (TBA)]], music can be similar to the other ways people express their humanity. Music dominated by institutions leads to the jazz industrial complex.
