It can often be unclear how to use new technologies or formats. Many people have developed reflexes for posting time-bound content on the web, but these reflexes are somewhat out of place in the context of a digital garden. It's insufficient to simply throw a new paradigm in someone's lap and expect them to understand, adapt, and adopt. Better to present a visible, usable demonstration of what is possible—an authentic, non-contrived example that can be used as guidance for things to explore.
As part of this, I took some time to write on this site and be an example for Hyperdraft integrated with Garden. Some goals are to:
- cultivate a space to write and share knowledge and perspective
- connect the time-bound to the timeless
- explore structures that are not topic-oriented
- create sharable content
